Vietnam entry requirements 2025

As of 2025, Vietnam's entry requirements have returned to normal as before the Covid-19 epidemic. Basically, most tourists to Vietnam will need a valid vietnam visa to be able to enter (except for citizens of visa-exempt countries as shown in the table below). You must have a valid passport and Vietnam visa (or visa approved letter from a licensed Vietnam tour operators) to enter Vietnam. Your passport must be valid for six months beyond your planned stay and you must have at least one blank visa page. Please note that it is 6 months from the date you enter Vietnam, not 6 months from the time you Apply Visa.
Vietnam visa applications can be submitted from 1 day to 6 months in advance. Although it only takes 2-3 working days for your visa to be approved, it is recommended that you apply for a Vietnam visa 1-2 weeks before your arrival date to avoid any other payment or administrative issues. With urgent 24-hour or 72-hour visas, the cost will be very expensive and there is no guarantee of entry. From 2022, all visitors entering Vietnam will not need to be tested for COVID upon arrival in Vietnam. You also do not need a certificate of Covid-19 vaccination or PCR test when entering Vietnam. However, people entering Vietnam with symptoms of Covid-19 may be required to undergo rapid testing or PCR.

It serves as official permission for the holder to board a flight to Vietnam and have their visa stamped into their passport upon arrival at the airport in Vietnam. The approval letter for a Vietnam visa includes information about the person(s) permitted to enter Vietnam with the letter, such as their full name, passport number, date of birth, nationality, and the duration of their stay in Vietnam. It also states that the holder is allowed to enter Vietnam and have their visa stamped at the airport.

Visa Approval Letter processing fee:
1 - One-month Single-entry Visa: 15 USD.
2 - One-month Multiple-entry Visa: 30 USD.
Note:
- The above rate does not cover the Visa Stamp Fee, which must be paid at the arrival airport to immigration officers: 25 USD Single Entry or 50 USD Multiple Entry.
